Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Offering English Language Education and Academic Literacy programmes in the B.Ed., HCSS and PGCE qualifications;
- Providing postgraduate supervision in English Language Education;
- Assisting with the assessment of WIL;
- Course and curriculum development in English Language Education and Academic Literacy;
- Teaching English Language Education and Academic Literacy in a hybrid environment;
- Conducting research in the focus areas of the Department.
LECTURER
- Masters Degree in English Language Education or a related field ;
- 1 3 Years experience in teaching English Language Education;
- Evidence of some research experience;
- Evidence of some experience in community engagement;
- Evidence of some academic citizenship.
- PhD in English Language Education or a related field;
- 3 - 5 years' teaching experience in HEI or other education sectors;
- 6-7 publications (journals, book chapters, Books) of which 4 should be in a mix of internationally and nationally accredited journals;
- 1 publication should be sole-authored;
- At least 3 students supervised to completion at Masters level;
- Experience in Community Engagement;
- Experience in academic administration.
- Ability to engage in teaching and learning at a higher education level;
- Appropriate language and communication skills in English;
- A thorough understanding of English Language Education;
- Ability to initiate and supervise research at postgraduate level;
- Ability to work in a community of scholars;
- Ability to initiate a research project;
- Computer literacy;
- Value-based and value-driven person who can set a professional example to students;
- Formative and summative assessment experience;
- Academic administration experience;
- Community engagement experience.
LECTURER
- PhD in English Language Education or a related field;
- A recognised teaching qualification;
- Evidence of the development of modules or programmes in English Language Education;
- Ability to coordinate or manage programme delivery;
- Evidence of the development of modules or programmes in English Language Education;
- Evidence of postgraduate supervision;
- Evidence of research activity over the past two years.
- A recognised teaching qualification;
- Evidence of the development of modules or programmes in English Language Education;
- Ability to coordinate or manage programme delivery;
- Evidence of the development of modules or programmes in English Language Education;
- Evidence of research funding obtained;
- Membership of professional bodies;
- An active Orcid-ID.
