About The Job
  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Legal Administrator to support our legal and compliance team in managing contracts, legal records, regulatory filings, and general administrative tasks. The successful candidate will ensure that legal processes run smoothly and in compliance with applicable South African laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
  • Contract & Document Management
  • Draft, format, review, and edit standard legal documents and correspondence
  • Maintain an up-to-date digital and physical filing system for contracts, company policies, NDAs, etc.
  • Track contract lifecycles (signatures, renewals, expirations) and alert relevant departments accordingly
  • Assist in the preparation of legal templates and internal compliance forms
  • Regulatory Compliance & Legal Support
  • Assist with submissions to regulatory bodies (CIPC, SARS, Department of Labour, etc.)
  • Support legal team with compliance registers, POPIA records, and corporate governance documentation
  • Liaise with external legal counsel or auditors as needed
  • Ensure confidential and secure handling of sensitive information
  • Administrative Duties
  • Schedule legal meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items
  • Manage legal team calendars and deadlines
  • Handle the notarization and authentication process where required
  • Provide general administrative support to the legal/compliance team
  • Litigation & Case File Support (if applicable)
  • Prepare court bundles, affidavits, or related documentation under supervision
  • Maintain litigation files and assist in tracking court dates, legal notices, etc.
  • Coordinate delivery of legal documents to third parties, lawyers, or registrars
  • Company Secretarial Support
  • Assist in preparing board packs, resolutions, and annual returns
  • Support the maintenance of statutory records and director registers
  • Coordinate annual CIPC filings and maintain company compliance documentation
Requirements
  • Matric certificate (Grade 12)
  • Diploma or degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal, or Office Administration
  • 25 years of relevant experience in a legal or corporate environment
  • Familiarity with South African legal systems and regulatory frameworks
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and multitasking abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); knowledge of legal software is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
