Packing Line Supervisor

PACKING LINE SUPERVISOR

Reporting to the Packing Manager, the successful candidate will be based at our Molteno Packhouse in the Grabouw area. The position requires a pro-active and well-organized individual, ensuring an effective and efficient packing function by optimizing the use of resources and meeting production objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor effective fruit grading and packing procedures per specific market standards.
• Ensure correct working methods and procedures are adhered to with regards to food safety (BRC and HACCP)
• Report relevant production information to assist management in taking well informed decisions.
• Minimize downtime through effective planning and communication.
• Lead and develop a team of 20 workers

Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Tertiary qualification in Production Management or similar qualification will be advantageous)
• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a production environment- preferably in a Fruit Packing operation.
• Knowledge and understanding of fruit quality standards, customer specifications and packing machinery
• Must have managed and lead a small team of workers
• Must be computer literate
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be flexible and work nightshift, public holidays, weekends and overtime if required
