Functions

The Slitting Technician is responsible for the proper set-up of the slitting machine and to ensure each roll iscut with accuracy, according to the customer specifications.
They are also responsible for the proper use ofthe slitter; the preventive maintenance and housekeeping of the equipment and the area

Responsibilities

Knowledge and understanding of all components of the slitter and their purpose
Verify customer requirements by reviewing job card specifications
How to set-up the machine, according to the customer order both Manually and Automatic
Manages pre-run testing of the material to ensure curing time has been met and the bond strength of
the laminated substrate
Runs the proper amount of material to the job order
Completes proper checking of production and material
Load and unload material from the laminators using defined equipment
Make good quality assessments on each roll and grade accordingly (hardness, visuals, treatment
Must have basic troubleshooting skills and the ability to make adjustments to rewind stations to ensure
the customer receives a roll conforming to our set standards
Ability to work with trim systems including setup and operation
Maintain good housekeeping and safe working environment
Interact and communicate with packers, production supervisor, lead technician, and other slitting
technicians as required
Assist in any function of the Slitting department as requested by your lead operator and/or supervisor
Follow the production schedule as issued
Follow equipment and workplace cleaning/sanitation procedures, to complete Sanitation checklist
Perform daily and periodic preventative maintenance duties specified for assigned
machines/equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of machines/equipment and adjacent work area to ISO standards.
Report quality issues to Production Manager for analysis and/or remedy
Report all Food Safety Violations to management
