A well known wine estate is seeking a maintenance assistant to join their team in Stellenbosch, Cape Winelands.
Job responsibilities:
- Assess and report on maintenance tasks.
- Performing daily maintenance checks and reporting to management.
- Operating vehicles in a safe and legal manner at all times.
- Dealing with maintenance requests, assessing, reporting on damages, prioritizing and completing tasks as directed.
- Completing practical repairs and projects to a high standard.
- Practical bricklaying and cement works, carpentry work, minor electrical, plumbing, painting, minor air-conditioning, flooring and tiling, outdoor landscaping, general facility repairs.
- Assisting team members in order to achieve optimal efficiency and quality of work.
- Ensuring safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
- Weekend duty on rotational basis as directed by management.
Job requirements:
- Be available to work occasional overtime and other shifts.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise tasks.
- General knowledge in many aspects of repair and maintenance work.
- Dependable and honest.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately.
- Handyman/Maintenance related experience vital.
- Able to work occasional overtime and attend to urgent call outs.
- Must be a team player and treat co-works with respect.
