The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising the day-to-day maintenance activities while performing hands-on technical work as needed. The focus is on ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and operational continuity.
Key performance areas include:- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, assigning tasks according to priorities set by the Maintenance Manager.
- Perform hands-on maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance, as required.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure all maintenance work is carried out safely and in compliance with food safety and company standards.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns, attend to repairs, and provide accurate updates to the Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and spare parts are available for the team and maintained in good condition.
- Liaise with production teams to address equipment issues and support smooth production operations.
- Support the Maintenance Manager in overseeing contractors to ensure compliance with safety and operational requirements.
- Participate in improvement projects and assist with the execution of maintenance-related initiatives as directed.
Requirements: - Grade 12 with a relevant technical qualification (N6, Trade Test, or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering).
- Minimum 5 years experience in a maintenance environment, preferably within the food manufacturing
- industry.

- Experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment.
- Good problem-solving, communication, and team coordination skills.
- Computer literacy (MS Office; ERP system exposure advantageous).
- Able to work shifts and respond to call-outs when required.
