Marketing Representative (Engineering Trade & Exhibitions)

As a Marketing Specialist for Trade and Exhibition in the Engineering field, your role would encompass a range of responsibilities aimed at organising and promoting engineering-focused trade shows, exhibitions, customer interaction events and expos. Your primary objective would be to drive attendance, engagement, and participation among key stakeholders, including industry professionals, companies, and potential clients.

The Marketing for Trade and Exhibition will be working alongside the team which consists of Marketing Communication & Public Relations, Design and Social Media.

Someone with a creative approach and willing to bring in new ideas will be preferred.

Job Specifications
  • Educational Background: A National Diploma or higher in Marketing, Business, Communications, Projects or a related field is typically required. An engineering background or understanding of engineering concepts would be a significant advantage.
  • Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of engineering industries, trends, technologies, and terminology is preferred. This will help you identify, source and communicate effectively with both exhibitors and attendees.
  • Event Marketing Experience: Prior experience in marketing for trade shows, exhibitions, expos, or similar events is highly desirable. Understanding the unique challenges and strategies for promoting such events is essential along with organizing the company stand and display at the event.
  • Digital Marketing Skills: Proficiency in digital marketing techniques is essential. This includes social media marketing, email campaigns, content marketing, SEO, and possibly even paid advertising.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for crafting compelling marketing materials, interacting with stakeholders, and delivering presentations.
  • Creativity: The ability to come up with innovative marketing ideas and campaigns to attract attendees and exhibitors is important. Creativity will set your event apart from competitors.
  • Analytical Skills: Being able to analyse marketing data and metrics to measure the effectiveness of your campaigns is crucial. This data-driven approach will help you refine strategies over time.
  • Project Management: Events involve various moving parts. Strong project management skills are essential for coordinating deadlines, teams, and tasks effectively. It is imperative to understand various public exhibitions in compliance with the Health & Safety Act.
  • Networking: Building relationships with industry professionals, potential exhibitors, sponsors, and partners will help you expand the event's reach and impact.
Responsibilities
  • Working closely with the National Marketing Manager to develop Marketing events: Create comprehensive marketing plans, layouts and liaise with the team that outline goals, target audiences, messaging, channels, and tactics to present and promote the engineering trade show, customer event or exhibition.
  • Related Content Creation: Produce engaging and informative content for various marketing channels, including website updates, social media posts, blog articles, press releases, and email newsletters.
  • Digital Marketing: Implement digital marketing campaigns to promote interactive social engagements across platforms like social media, email marketing, and online advertising to increase event visibility and engagement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the internal design teams, content creators, and external agencies to develop visually appealing materials that communicate the event's value proposition.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor and analyse the performance of marketing campaigns using relevant metrics. Use insights gained to make data-driven decisions and optimize future efforts, and be able to consolidate this information in a precise format to present to the National Sales & Marketing Manager
  • Attendee and Exhibitor Engagement: Develop strategies that will attract attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors, ensuring a diverse and engaged participant base.
  • Promotional Partnerships: Identify potential partners, sponsors, and collaborators to enhance the event's credibility and reach.
  • Budget Management: Develop, compile, comply with and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to achieve the best possible results.
  • Post-Event Analysis: Evaluate the success of the marketing strategies post-event, gather feedback, and identify areas for future improvement.
  • Adaptation to Trends: Stay updated on marketing trends and emerging technologies to incorporate innovative strategies into your marketing plans.
