Mechanical Assistant

Astral, a leading South African integrated poultry producer, has a Mechanical Assistant opportunity in County Fair, Processing Plant in Fisantekraal.

The purpose of the Mechanical Assistant is to provide support to the maintenance team, by upholding and maintain the standards required by County Fair. The incumbent will assist in smooth operations and maintain efficiency and safety and health standards of the company, that is inline with the occupational health and safety act.

Qualifications

• Must have an N2 qualification or equivalent

Experience

• Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, repair of poultry processing and rendering plant equipment will be a distinct advantage

The Ideal Candidate Would Be Responsible For

• Routine maintenance on processing equipment
• Attending to all unscheduled processing interruptions resulting from breakdowns
• Installation and maintenance of processing equipment, including on weekends
• Adhering to 20 keys, HACCP and general housekeeping rules

The Successful Candidate Must Meet The Following Requirements

• Fluent in English and a second official language
• Must be computer literate
• Flexibility to work overtime, weekends and on public holidays when required
• Must be willing to work shifts
• Must have reliable transport
