My journalism career began as a media intern at Parliament, writing press releases and doing digital archiving, moving on to do communications for Working for Water, the invasive alien programme in what was then DWAF. Here I did branding, speech writing, photography and help set up a national toll free hotline. As a cum laude graduate at CPUT, I earned a scholarship to the Netherlands where I did African Politics and magazine production. I completed my degree at the Durban Univ of Tech where I also moonlighted as a news reader for a local radio station and did society news for the Daily News and Isolzwe newspapers. At the Al Jazeera Media Networks in Qatar, I was part of the team that revisioned the website and worked on the news desk during the Arab Spring. But I am looking for a career change with better prospects - one that I hope will allow me to flex my writing muscles. As an internationally experienced journalist, producer, designer - I offer creative solutions to organizations and NGO’s hoping to engage with the media & their stakeholders by heightening their brand awareness by building a positive public image through social media, written and soft focus content.
