Metadata Librarian

The unit seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced candidate as a Metadata Librarian. The successful candidate will be based in the Pretoria Office in a permanent position. The Metadata Librarian will be part of the Information Services Team responsible for maintaining the library catalogue. The incumbent should understand the essence of the library catalogue as a tool that represents the library globally. The incumbent should further ensure that the library resources are optimally displayed to enable seamless access to the HSRC collection. The successful candidate will report to the Manager: Information Services.

The successful candidate should be deeply knowledgeable about cataloguing and classification standards. He or she should be a good team player, be self-disciplined, proactive, and keep abreast with the new trends around cataloguing standards.
