This position will remain open until filled. 5.9 hours per day/174 days per year/Salary Grade 11 $25.04 per hour (2025-26 Support Salary Table) [Promotions result in a 5% minimum increase] Description: Reporting under the Military Support Team in the Student and Family Resources department, the Military Registered Behavior Technician (MRBT) provides teachers, classroom assistants, and other school team members with assessments, targeted behavior plans, accommodations, and specific behavioral strategies to support military-connected students. The RBT provides professional development to school staff (certified and classified) on behavioral principles, intervention, and student engagement. The position involves data collection, training with school staff, working directly with military-connected students, modeling programming, intervention, and some direct implementation of interventions with military-connected students. This may include working with severe behavioral problems in the K-12 range throughout the Davis School District. As a part of the Military Support Team, additional duties apply to help support the MSTs focus on increasing the military lens throughout all DSD schools. These duties are assigned by the Military Support Team Lead on a case-by-case basis. The MRBT will report to the Military Support Team Lead for all day-to-day duties, but will collaborate with the Student and Family Resource Department BCBA/RBT team for any RBT-specific trainings. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: *Knowledge of and experience with the direct implementation of behavior management techniques with both groups and individuals. * Must have strong interpersonal skills to work with a variety of teachers, principals, parents, students, and staff members. * Ability to build and maintain relationships with students. Ability and desire to work patiently and compassionately with students who have challenging behaviors (e.g., yelling, biting, hitting, kicking, pinching). * Ability to work independently and with a team. * Ability to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively with other members of your team. Strong organizational and time management skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks. * Must have specific and functional knowledge of Special Education law. * Must have the ability to problem solve and to implement a variety of academic and behavioral programs under the supervision of behavior specialists/teachers. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 1. Associate degree; 48 semester hours at an institution of higher education; para-educator certificate; or passing Utah State Office of Education-approved para-professional test. 2.District and state in-service training (required after hiring). 3.Significant experience working with students with special needs. 4.Two years of successful experience working with children and adolescents with significant behavioral needs, preferably students with ASD or other developmental disabilities.
