Miller

We are looking for a skilled Miller to join a reputable milling operation. This is a hands-on role managing the milling process from raw material intake to final product, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee milling process: quality, extractions, gain, housekeeping, and admin
• Manage downtime and production schedules
• Lead and supervise mill personnel
• Sample and test incoming materials per standard procedures
• Ensure conditioning, milling, and final products meet specifications
• Maintain full traceability throughout the milling process
• Ensure deep cleaning and maintenance schedules are followed
• Control mix back stock using FIFO; monitor for quality and infestation
• Supervise product packing and flushing, ensuring compliance with specifications
• Maintain a dust, air, spillage, and water-leakage-free plant
• Optimize equipment efficiency using job card systems
• Manage Operational Prerequisite Programs (OPRPs)

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Trade Tested Miller (GMF) qualification
• Experience with milling systems and PLCs
• Own transport and willing to work shifts
• Minimum 5 years experience as a qualified Miller (mealies preferred)
• Fumigation and grading experience
• Willingness to work overtime when necessary

• Reports to Head Miller / Production Manager
