Key Responsibilities

• Create multimedia content for Daily Suns Celebrity news verticals
• Research and develop own celebrity news and feature ideas
• Take direction from News Editor
• Supplement written content with mobile video, pictures, and audio interviews as a matter ofcourse
• Deliver target market focused content daily to set deadlines
• Attend daily news meetings
• Adhere to quality, style, and content standards
• Understand requirements around paywalled content and deliver accordingly
• Comply with the requirements of the South African Press Code
• Maintain substantial celebrity contact list

Skills And Competencies

• A celebrity contact list
• Excellent writing skills
• Sound news judgment and attention to detail
• Knowledge of mobile video and audio recording
• The ability to take high quality pictures
• A flair for narrative tabloid-style storytelling
• Creativity and a sense of humour
• An understanding of South African media law, ethics, and the Press Code
• The ability to work independently to a high degree of accuracy

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant diploma or degree in journalism or similar
• At least 2 years experience as a journalist and some experience with shooting video orrecording audio
• Knowledge of the online environment
• Knowledge of the Daily Sun audience and their interests, as well as the broader SNL24audience
• Proficiency in relevant computer packages and applications
• A celebrity contact list
