Graphic Designer

MAP Retail is searching for Graphic Designer to join the team in Menlyn. The role requires up-to-date knowledge in the design industry, balanced design abilities to be able to be guided by a strict corporate identity across many brands, and also a creative flair that can be applied to new concepts and projects. The new team member will work on a variety of products, including social media, web and digital projects, retail adverts, magazine adverts, brochures, exhibitions, corporate identity, etc.

Requirements
  • Matric with 3-5 years Proven graphic design experience
  • Formal graphic design training and education
  • Possession of creative flair, versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
  • Up to date with industry leading software and technologies (Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Professionalism regarding time, costs and deadlines
  • Excellent design ethics in terms of set up and management of files
  • Experience working with and designing/building websites
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign a must!)
  • Mac platform
  • Microsoft Office
  • Website/digital/social media development and knowledge
  • Clear criminal record
Key Performance Indicators will include, but not limited to
  • Create high quality artwork and other advertising material under the constraints of tight deadlines
  • An ability to practice discipline in working with established brand identities
  • Work with a wide range of media and be proficient with the latest Adobe software (InDesign is crucial)
  • Social media knowledge is highly advantageous
  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts
  • Support the rest of the design and marketing team
  • Works well independently and can handle projects from start to finish creative development, refinement of artwork and preparation for print
