Network Engineer

The Network Engineer is critical in ensuring continuous operations and providing support, implementation and management of SARAOs organisational-wide network, including high-capacity science data and office networks, High-speed networks and inter-branch data connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design, install, configure, change and maintain the SARAO network
* Interface with external stakeholders
* Upgrading Networks for Science and No-Science Data
* Management of Linux-based network services platforms (including virtualised environments)
* Perform network and IT security establishment and maintenance duties
* Monitor and maintain software?, hardware and peripheral devices and run tests on a regular basis
* Analyse network performance and find ways of improvement
* Schedule upgrades and maintenance according to organisational service cadence and schedules, minimising interruptions to operations
