Result Interpretation & Reporting
- Analyze and interpret genetic and genomic test results and provide clinical reports as per laboratory and international standards.
- Contribute to the development & validation of new methods.
- Participate in quality assurance and accreditation in line with ISO 15189 standards.
- Perform laboratory analyses, including sample reception, logging, processing, and quality assurance.
- Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment and efficient inventory management.
- Maintain HPCSA registration through ongoing professional development and training.
- Participate in in the CHM training program and post graduate student guidance.
- Attend and represent CHM at national and international conferences, seminars, and professional meetings.
- Perform ad hoc tasks as directed by management.
- Masters in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
- HPCSA registration as a Medical Biological Scientist in Human Genetics (or a portfolio of evidence ready for submission). Please clearly indicate your HPCSA registration number on your CV.
- Minimum of three (3) years laboratory analysis experience.
- Candidates registered with the HPCSA within the last five years must submit their HPCSA portfolio of evidence with their application.
