Nurse Educator

Accountable and responsible for ensuring a high standard of education and training outcomes in terms of regulations, policies, procedures and directives of the Academy of Higher Education and training (DHET), Council of Higher Education (CHE) South African Nursing Council (SANC), Academy and the Clinical Facilities.

The incumbent focuses on integrating theory and practice by facilitating, assessing and recording the theoretical application of cognitive, psychomotor and affective skills, in order to produce a safe and competent clinical practitioner. In addition, the incumbent engages in continuous professional development (CPD)

Minimum Qualification

Diploma / Degree: Nursing and Midwifery and Nursing Education

HWSETA / Assessor and moderator

Role Specific Knowledge

• DHET AND SANC legislation in nursing education
• Knowledge of scope of practice for nursing in SA
• Patient safety and Quality management
• Hospital operations

Experience Required

• 3 - 5 Years Experience in Nursing Education.
