We are opening a new Clinic in West Beach, Blouberg and require the services of a Nursing Services Manager with the following:-
Requirements: Must have a diploma or degree in general nursing, midwifery, community nursing and psychiatric nursing ● Registration with SANC as a nurse (proof of registration to be attached) ● Experience in mental health care will be an advantage ● Experience in a leadership position within the team context will be advantageous.
Knowledge, skills and core competencies: ● Lead, supervise, organize, coordinate and control nursing team and any other staff working on the premises ● Set and control the standards of nursing practice in the unit to the highest possible level ● Supervise and control managers of contracted services as well as in-house services e.g. catering, security, housekeeping etc. ● Liaise with doctors, patients, visitors and team members ● Work without supervision. ● Guide nurses in the assessment of care needs, the implementation and evaluation of intervention strategies for different categories of patients. ● Reports to the Group Nursing Coordinator and the CEO.
Duties: ● Ensure that the realistic requests by referring doctors and therapists are met ● Manage subordinate nursing staff and ensure safe and professional practice ● Implement, manage, control and maintain quality patient care ● Order, control and administer medication when necessary ● Determine nursing priorities and plan patient care according to prescribed processes ● Observe, record and report patient actions, reactions and interactions and intervene appropriately ● Give and receive feedback to doctors and other members of the multi-disciplinary team as appropriate, to ensure continuity of patient care ● Maintain professional confidentiality and instill its importance in subordinate staff, especially within the psychiatric context ● Responsible for the smooth functioning of the Clinic ● Accountable for all nursing activities within the Clinic.
