A position for an experienced and qualified occupational hygienist has opened with a leading SHE company.
Job requirements:
- Registered as an Occupational Hygienist with SAIOH
- Relevant Occupational Health related degree Experience in performing various kinds of occupational hygiene surveys (e.g. noise, illumination, chemical exposure, asbestos, ergonomics, IAQ, etc.)
- Conversant and experienced in performing various occupational hygiene related laboratory work (e.g. weighing of membrane filters, clearing, counting and sizing of asbestos fibres, calibration of equipment, etc.)
- Have excellent communication skills (oral & writing)
- Acquainted with and skilled in occupational hygiene report writing
- Be able to work independently
- Deadline orientated
- Ability to work under pressure
- In possession of a valid driver’s license and own vehicle
- Must be willing to travel extensively
- Positive attitude, drive, flexibility and a professional image in terms of appearance and conduct at all times.

Job responsibilities:
- Design and Management of Occupational Hygiene programmes for external clients
- Daily Co-ordination and Supervision of field technical/administrative staff assigned
- Supervision of internal technical staff responsible for internal analysis, kit preparation, equipment care and calibration
- Preparation of proposals and reports after conducting surveys
- Oversee the maintenance of system occupational hygiene equipment
- Costing and quoting for various types of Occupational Hygiene sampling and services
- Performing Occupational Exposure Risk Assessments for external clients
- Design and implementation of evaluation measurement surveys for a variety of Occupational Stressors found in the work environment at external client facilities
- Interface directly with clients on projects. Conduct site visits on all assigned sites, define client objectives, prepare proposals
- With risk management advise clients how to prevent industrial disease
