Job Description

The OM Wealth Desktop Support Specialist is a senior Desktop Support role supporting Old Mutual Wealth end users and Executives based at Mutual Park, 1 Mutual Place and surrounding areas.

This position focuses on a dedicated service of supporting the Old Mutual Wealth end users and executive team across a wide range of technology platforms. We are looking for someone with strong technical skills that has extensive experience in desktop and mobile support.
  • Provide support across a wide range of technology platforms (Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android)
  • Provide onsite, remote, and occasionally at home support to VIP/Executives
  • Support special events, large webinars, and associated technology needs.
  • Develop and maintain executive support documentation.
  • Ability to resolve break-fix problems, deploy new hardware installations and manage migrations and transition to new hardware effectively.
  • Identify, resolve, and escalate issues where appropriate to leadership or other IT teams to ensure the issues are resolved with a sense of urgency.
  • System support and design
  • Provide afterhours and on-call support for executives, if and when required
  • Support enterprise solutions across various Microsoft/Apple/Android device management platforms as well as Microsoft O365
  • Provide support design, implement, and manage solutions using Intune, Azure, and Jamf.
  • Troubleshoot and mitigate complex WAN/LAN/WIFI issues.
  • Support end to end provisioning processes including images, software deployment, and patching.
  • Ensure the highest levels of stability, capacity, performance, and uptime for supported services.
  • Establish and maintain standards and ensure that all are within compliance of existing policies and standards.
  • Creation and maintenance of Knowledge Base Articles for support teams for all covered services
  • After hours support (where needed)
Education and Training :
  • A+, N+
  • Microsoft Certifications (MS-900, MD-100, MD-101)
  • JAMF
  • Apple Certified Support Professional (Preferred)
  • Desktop Support Skills (Intermediate to Senior)
  • Proficient in Windows 10, Windows phone , Apple IOS and MS-Office suite (i.e., Outlook
  • Teams, Zoom, Skype etc.)
  • Mobile device support - iPhone, Android, iPad support etc.
  • Exposure to Cisco and Teams video conferencing (VC Room)
  • Proficient in Zoom video conferencing.
Requirements:
  • 7-10+ years of proven experience within IT engineering or system administrator role
  • Working knowledge of IT general practices and methods with in-depth technical knowledge covering Active Directory, Desktop Engineering, Identity and Access Management, Device Management, Endpoint Security, and other related skills to be successful in this role
  • Excellent knowledge of ITSM processesincluding ability to perform incidentand problemmanagement as needed, utilizingITSM tools.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
  • Fundamental understanding of network concepts including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Must have experience with imaging, patching and packaged deployments.
  • Must have experience with large implementations of Device management leveraging tools such as Jamf, Intune (including co-management), SCCM, and others.
  • Certifications in Jamf, Intune, or similar equivalent experience of 5+ years with these tools
  • Must have experience working with Microsoft 365 suite of products.
  • Must have a robust background and advanced working knowledge of both MacOS and Windows environments is required. Apple and MS certifications or 5+ years in an engineering role
  • Must work well with others as part of large national team.
  • Passionate for continuously learning new technologies.
  • Understand security best practices, policies and standards and ensure that all systems are maintained and deployed accordingly.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical data into simple English for executive users.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and present data and information to executives.
