Online School Educator - Natural Sciences - Optimi Home

Optimi is looking to hire a well-organised, people-oriented professional to join the team as an Online School Educator for Natural Sciences Senior /FET phase. The ideal candidate should be optimistic, open to new experiences, and a team player with strong communication abilities. Please note that this is a maternity relief position.
REQUIREMENTS

• BEd Degree or PGCE in related field.
• 5 years teaching in the Senior / FET phase.
• SACE registered.
• Extensive subject knowledge and good teaching and assessment skills.
• Experience with online teaching (will be advantageous when applying for the position).
• Computer literacy (essential): MS suite, Google Chrome.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English.

DUTIES

• Teaching learners based on national curriculum guidelines within your specialist subject areas.
• Planning, preparing, and delivering lessons.
• Assist learners that are struggling and to unlock problems through clear and insightful explanations and guidance.
• Supporting the leadership team to implement the online schools development plan.
• Collaborating with parents, carers, guardians, support workers, and other professionals to safeguard and ensure the educational holistic welfare needs of learners.
• Research, suggest, apply, and advise on new trends, products, and technologies relevant in education.
• Ensuring the highest standards of quality and applying innovative teaching methods.
• Provide feedback to management team on teaching and learning sessions and the progress of the learners.
• Manage parent interactions and general communications.
• Manage the day-to-day tasks, i.e., e-mails and interaction/communication with all relevant stakeholders.
