Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced and target-driven Operations Manager to lead and manage the permanent recruitment division. This role requires a strong leader with proven recruitment experience who can consistently drive performance, hit and exceed targets, motivate teams, and create a high-performance, results-focused culture.

The ideal candidate will combine hands-on recruitment knowledge with exceptional people management, leadership, and operational oversight.

Duties Include:

Operational Leadership
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the permanent recruitment division
  • Ensure delivery against revenue, placement, and activity targets
  • Implement and continuously improve operational processes and best practices
Performance & Target Management
  • Set clear, measurable targets for consultants and team leaders
  • Track KPIs, pipeline activity, and financial performance
  • Draft, implement, and manage performance plans
  • Proactively manage underperformance through coaching, counselling, and formal performance management processes
People Management & Motivation
  • Lead, motivate, and inspire recruitment teams to achieve and exceed targets
  • Foster a strong, target-driven, and accountable culture
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance reviews, and development discussions
  • Identify training needs and support ongoing professional development
Stakeholder & Management Liaison
  • Act as a key liaison between recruitment teams and senior management
  • Provide accurate reporting, insights, and forecasts to management
  • Support strategic planning and growth initiatives
Culture & Leadership
  • Create a high-energy, performance-oriented environment
  • Promote collaboration, professionalism, and strong interpersonal relationships
  • Lead by example with integrity, resilience, and commercial awareness
Educational & Experience Requirements:
  • Proven experience in permanent recruitment, ideally in an operational or management role
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently hit and exceed targets
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating recruitment teams
  • Solid experience in performance management, including drafting performance plans and managing non-performance
  • Highly target-driven with strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Confident liaising with senior management and stakeholders
  • Resilient, decisive, and solutions-focused
