PC&D Engineer

Our client is looking for a PC&D Engineer- Process, Control and Development Automation Engineer to join their team. Must ideally come from smelting or steel industry - with a passion for process control and automation. Must have completed B.Eng (Electrical, Electronic, Metallurgical or Mechanical) or BSc. Computer Science, Computer Engineering) or related field with experience in Software development (C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, etc), specifically in the engineering control software field.

• Required knowledge in First Principal feed forward models and feedback control loops as well as Artificial Intelligence systems (Fuzzy Logic & Neural Network) -that ensure continuous process performance improvement in the hot rolling mill.
• You will be responsible for co-ordinating hot rolling process improvements : quality, efficiency and availability and maintaining close control on critical product characteristics.
• Implementing corrective and preventive actions to assure quality and effective process performance.
• Investigate all modelling and control system failures and associated deviations to implement corrective and preventive actions.
