REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent recognized qualification
Current Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist.
3 plus years of experience in a private hospital and knowledge of Medical Aids and Private Healthcare Industry
Computer literacy with knowledge of SAP and CKS advantageous
Knowledge on SAP operating system and CKS would be an advantage.
Excellent Interpersonal and communication skills
Good organisational and administration skills
Flexibility of duty time to suit departmental needs
Proactive and selfmotivating, contributing to creating a work environment that encourages positive staff morale.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Evaluating prescriptions and dispensing of all prescriptions for in and out patients, including Schedule 5 and 6 drugs
Supply and control of ward stocks
Provision of drug information service
Checking and controlling expiry dates of medication in stock as well as supervising the removal and or destruction of expired ethical stock
Assist with all aspects of ethical stock including cyclical counts and full stock take process as well as stock ordering
Maintaining an effective relationship with key role players
Supervising the control and dispensing of medication by pharmacist assistants in compliance with legal requirements
Provision of inservice training to nursing staff
Daily Ward Rounds
Active participation and recording of CPD activities on the SAPC website
Related housekeeping tasks as well as leading on clinical committees AMS
Preparation of month end reports
