Job Summary
EQ8 Recruit has been engaged to help recruit an Industrial Effluent Process Engineer for their office in Somerset West. As part of the process design team, you will be responsible for the custom design the wastewater treatment systems treatment for industrial effluent from factories, food and beverage processing plants etc.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for this role, you have the following skills and experience, but not limited to:-
- Bachelors degree in civil, mechanical or chemical engineering required; Masters degree highly preferred.
- Registered ECSA Professional Accreditation
- Proven Process Engineering Design experience, with examples of completed Industrial Effluent Treatment and Domestic Wastewater Treatment projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, computer-aided Design (CAD) software, and other relevant analytical, scientific, or monitoring software.
- Thorough understanding of applicable government environmental and safety regulations.
The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-
- Assess the need for wastewater treatment steps and select the most suitable equipment
- Analyze industrial effluent processes for suitability, efficiency, and effectiveness
- Analyse and recommend chemical, biological, or other wastewater treatment methods to treat domestic wastewater
- Conduct feasibility studies for the construction of wastewater treatment facilities
- Designs layout and specifications for various systems and equipment
- Reviews and critiques water and wastewater treatment system proposals, plans, and designs
- Analyzes disposal methods or treatments for sludge and waste products
- Collaborate with clients, consultants and contractors
- Ensure designs and construction conforms to municipal and national laws, regulations, standards and specifications
- Write technical reports and reviews
- Provide technical direction or supervision to junior engineers, engineering or computer-aided design (CAD) technicians, or other technical personnel
- Project manage the construction of new and refurbished wastewater treatment plants

A market-related salary based on the level of responsibility for this role is on offer.
