PMO Manager

Job Responsibilites
  • Develops, manages and maintains IT Programme and Project Management process and manages the portfolio, including providing portfolio status reports
  • Assesses the current state of management (processes, roles, controls, contracts, tools, etc.) in place at providers and within Illovo
  • Develops, manages and maintains an integrated methodology (including artefacts/deliverables), with input and collaboration from a appropriate business functions, and provides onboarding, training and support to project managers
  • Conducts periodic project reviews to ensure compliance
  • Reviews and assesses Application Service provider application development capabilities (i.e. process, tools, contracts etc.)
  • Identifies processes, roles, tools and technologies required to manage the application service providers
  • Ensures appropriate remediation and mitigation activities/plans are developed and introduced
  • Supports and collaborates with business relationship manager(s) and project managers
  • Conducts periodic reviews to ensure compliance
  • Manages small or pilot projects when required
  • Develops, implements and co-ordinates/manages an IT Programme and Project Management process to manage IT investment projects through its life cycle
  • Manages and monitors compliance and reporting by project managers
  • Prepares and issues monthly status reports
  • Ensures CAPEX approval for IT investment is managed end to end.
Requirements
  • Relevant Degree/Certification in Project Management and/or Information Technology
  • 7+ years experience in Project management with expertise/application in IT project management in various areas of IT
  • Experienced in project delivery methods and tools including: project planning, effort, schedule and scope control
  • Experience in business case development cost and benefits, with sound analytical skills
  • Strong track record in Portfolio Management
  • Sound understanding of portfolio and project governance and control
  • Ability to engage with business leaders at management level, and where appropriate, Steering Committee members
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with others within multi-disciplinary teams, promoting healthy relationships and building strong team dynamics
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
  • Well-developed decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity
