Job Description
The MiWay Business Insurance department is currently hiring for a Property Risk Surveyor in the Gauteng region. This role is a support to our commercial call centre sales and Tied Agents. The successful candidate will survey risks and make recommendations on risk improvement and underwriting.
Minimum Qualification Required
- Matric/ Grade 12/ Standard 10
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a commercial property risk surveyor working within a team with a proven track record in surveying commercial property risks
- Experience surveying complex risks, including manufacturing operations with a business interruption risk component.
- Thorough understanding of commercial property insurance contracts
- Any commercial insurance underwriting experience will be advantageous.
- Fire background will be advantageous.
- Experience in the field of health and safety will be advantageous.
- Survey commercial property risks to determine and document the risk profile and to advise underwriters of any concerns and or recommendations regarding the risk
- Building strong relationships with the Underwriting and support teams
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Deliver high quality reports
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent people skills
- Strong analytical ability
- Attention to detail and able to work under pressure
