Purpose:
Proconics has been shortlisted for several renewable projects in South Africa. Proconics is looking for reliable QA/QC Officer be responsible for the organization, implementation, proposals and scheduling of quality checks on equipment, evaluates and verifies the work performed against the work plan, specifications and standards, quality assurance, records/reports findings and concerns, and specifies corrective actions. To ensure the delivery scheduleand the requiredquality standards according to the contract, and to conduct expediting activities.

Minimum requirements:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

• Electrical/Civil/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering diploma.
• Minimum 6 years construction and technical experience.
• Experience in one or more of the following market segments:
• Renewable energy electrical balance of plant project
• Independent Power Producers (IPP)
• Transmission and Distribution
• Detailed understanding of substation civil and electrical scope (Eskom Dx and Tx)
• Detailed knowledge of Eskom Transmission or Distribution substation standards (up to 132kV)
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of OEM and Eskom Quality Inspection and test Plans
• Ability to read and interpret electrical engineering drawings and schematics
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings
• Experience of substation equipment testing, and commissioning will be advantageous
• Ability to develop and manage non-conformance, defects, and including root cause analysis.
• Understanding of ISO 9001, familiar with SANS/IEC Codes and Eskom standards.
• Drivers License and own transport.

Required outputs and responsibilities:

• The major responsibility of this position is to ensure quality of work on substation sites across SA. The position will involve liaising with Employer Quality personnel, Engineers and Project Managers.
• Adherence to Proconics Quality system
• Review the contractors quality documents as per approved Quality Management requirements.
• OEM QCP, Manufacturing Plan, Data Books, Operational & Maintenance Manual
• Construction Method Statements, Quality Control Plans, Checklist & Site Data Books
• Reporting on any non-conformances to the Construction Manager and Project Manager
• Conductor Factory Audits/Assessment and Factory Inspection
• Project Proposals and Site support
• Issuing NCRs to subcontractors and suppliers in line with Proconics Quality system
• Compile weekly/monthly Projects Quality reports
• Ensure that the multidisciplinary engineering and design intent is being carried through the construction phase, successful construction completion, ensuring commissioning and start-up success.
