Food Development Scientist

Our client is looking for a Food Development Scientist to join their team.

Responsibilities

• Product application trials on new products.
• Development of products and new markets.
• Customer training.
• On site testing and evaluation of products as required by clients.
• New product development for butchers and large factories in the interests of generating new markets.
• Liaising with customers along with Senior Food Technologists.
• Technical advisory services to butchers including consulting on product quality, production capacities and efficiencies.
• Implementation of quality control/assurance systems in order to increase production output and shelf life of products.

Qualifications

• BSc in Food Science.
• Previous experience in food industry advantageous.
• Must be willing to travel extensively within South Africa, into Africa and overseas.
• Valid drivers license.
