Junior Talent Acquisition Officer

Our client in the security industry is looking for a Junior Talent Acquisition Officer in Midrand

JOB PURPOSE: To contribute to the accomplishment of the Human Resource Department's goals and objectives. These duties will lead to an employee-orientated, high-performance culture that emphasizes on quality, productivity, goal attainment and ongoing development of the employees. The focus of this position is on providing support and advice to assist in meeting organisational workforce requirements through the delivery of customer-focused recruitment and selection activities.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 1.1 Matric (Grade 12). 1.2 Diploma or certificate in Human Resources management/administration will be beneficial 1.3 Minimum of 2 (two) years of proven administration/data capturing experience
  • KEY RECEIVERS: 2.1 Human Resource Manager 2.2 Principal Director and Director 2.3 Branch Managers 2.4 Department Managers 2.5 CPI Personnel 2.6 Third Parties
  • KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: 3.1 Recruitment, Selection, and Appointment 3.2 Induction 3.3 Tender Administration 3.4 Overall Human Resource Support
  • MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Functional outputs and activities will include, but are not limited to:
4.1 Recruitment Selection And Appointment

4.1.1 To perform and assist in all aspects of the recruitment and selection process

4.1.2 After confirming the vacancy with the HR Manager advertise the vacancy internally and externally

4.1.3 Conduct interviews on successful candidates, shortlist the top candidates and arrange panel interviews

4.1.4 Inform all unsuccessful applicants of the rejection of their applications

4.1.5 Schedule appointments for polygraph testing as well as any additional tests

4.1.6 Ensure PSIRA checks, criminal checks and matric checks are completed before appointment

4.1.7 Ensure that reference checks are done on each employee after their consent is received

4.1.8 Collect all the required documentation of the appointed candidate and send it to the relevant HR personnel to compile the offer of employment

4.1.9 Create, revise and update interview questionnaires and use them in the interview process

4.1.10 Ensure the employee submits all the relevant documentation, update it on the monthly report and create their personnel files

4.1.11 Inform the relevant HR personnel member of the outstanding information as well as the branches by means of the branch monthly reports

4.2 Induction

4.2.1 Conduct and co-ordinate the induction process of the employees' first day. This includes the following:
  • Company video
  • Contract discussion
  • Introduction to all staff
  • Lunch
  • HR Induction
  • SHEQ Induction
  • IT Induction
  • Finalisation of outstanding documentation
  • ID Photo
  • Departmental induction (when applicable)
  • Psira, provident fund and medical aid discussions
  • Communication style training
4.2.2 Inform all employees when a new employee starts with the company at least 3 days before the employee starts

4.2.3 Send an email to the new employee regarding what they can expect of their first day at least 3 days before their start date

4.2.4 Update the induction process as and when required and ensure that the booklet and presentation is updated

4.2.5 Ensure the new employees workstation is set up the day before in conjunction with the relevant manager. This includes Desk, chair, computer that has been set up and stationery

4.3 Tender Administration

4.3.1 Ensure that all CVs and certificates of employees needed for a tender are on the correct template, according to company standards and handed in on time.

4.4 Overall Human Resources Support

4.4.1 Arrange medical examinations only for employees required by clients. Ensure medicals are arranged before the expiry of current medicals. File accordingly

4.4.2 Ensure payment of ICAS within one day of receiving the invoice

4.4.3 Arrange ICAS sessions and assist with referrals as and when required

4.4.4 Raise awareness of ICAS with applicable personnel

4.4.5 Create and update organograms as and when required. Ensure it is updated on a yearly basis.

4.4.6 Perform any reasonable request in order to support the Human Resources department in reaching their objectives

4.4.7 Ensure that no confidential and personal information of any employee is accessible by unauthorised individuals. This may include archiving employee files as soon as possible / according to company policies.

4.4.8 Ensure that all policies, procedures and documents relevant to your area of responsibility are up to date.

4.4.9 Stand in at reception when the receptionist is not available
