Nursing Sister (Private Practice)

Our client is a well-known and highly respected medical practice located in Port Elizabeth. The practice urgently requires the services and skills of a registered nursing sister (Staff/ Auxiliary Nurse).

Minimum Requirements

• Qualified and registered Staff/ Auxiliary nurse (SANC).
• Minimum 2+ years' experience in a similar environment is ideal (Medical Private Practice).
• Effective communication skills (written, spoken and electronic).
• SA Citizen with clear criminal and credit history.
• Reliable transport and the preparedness toe work on public holidays and Saturdays (on rotation).
• Good bedside manner and a positive attitude.
• Must pay attention to detail and possess good organisational skills.
• Must be able to work well in a team.
• Bilingualism is advantageous.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Yearly examinations
• BP / urine / cholesterol / HGT / ECG / drawing of bloods / completion of blood forms.
• Specialist reports.
• Authorisations for room procedures.
• Register chronic medication with medical aid funds.
• Specialist appointments for patients.
• Stock - ordering, monitor levels & expiration dates.
• Assist with room procedures prepping instruments, materials & note (for doctors to bill).
• Assist patient with queries & script related matters.
• On doctors instruction phone patients with results (bloods, x-rays etc).
• Reception duties if needed.
• Knowledge of MEDIEDI / Practice Perfect / PACS system Bay Radiology (preferably).
• Filing of reports / results in patient files.
• Filing of patient files.
