Role Overview
We are seeking a highly driven B2B External Sale Executive with Roofing experience to join our expanding team and aggressively grow new business and unlock new revenue streams within the building and construction industry.
This is a primarily a sales, new-business focused role, suited to a motivated individual who thrives on cold outreach, building relationships from scratch, and closing deals in a competitive construction environment.
The successful candidate will take full ownership of developing a client base of contractors, developers, builders, and hardware retailers, while also working to manage and grow those accounts into recurring revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively hunt for new B2B clients within the construction and building sector through working with existing data / contacts, cold calling, site visits, networking, referrals, and outbound prospecting.
- Identify and develop new revenue streams across construction companies, project developers, contractors, and trade buyers.
- Build strong, long-term client relationships with contractors, procurement managers, project managers, and site supervisors.
- Understand client project needs and recommend the correct materials and quantities.
- Prepare accurate quotes, proposals, and bulk supply pricing.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Drive deals from first contact through to successful close and repeat orders.
- Manage and grow an active sales pipeline with full ownership of targets and performance.
- Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing, and competitor activity.
- Provide market feedback to internal teams regarding product demand and client needs.
- New B2B clients onboarded monthly/quarterly.
- Revenue generated from new and repeat business.
- Deal conversion rate.
- Average deal size and order frequency.
- Client retention and repeat purchasing behaviour.
- Sales experience within the Roofing sector.
- Proven B2B sales experience.
- Demonstrated success in a hunter / new business development role.
- Demonstrate success in building relationships and driving long term relationships
- Strong understanding of the construction buying cycle and how contractors procure materials.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and closing skills.
- High levels of drive, resilience, self-motivation, and accountability.
- Valid drivers licence and own reliable transport (preferred due to site and client visits).
