Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Manager Airside Operations, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:
- Implement team operational plans to ensure defined objectives are met.
- Adhere to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures.
- Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
- Ensure compliance to all applicable legislation, international, local and company standards, policies and procedures.
- Create and maintain a safe operating environment for all Stakeholders.
- Conduct compliance inspections, report on and follow-up to ensure that non-conformances/compliance have been addressed.
- Respond to incidents and accidents, conduct preliminary investigation, root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Gather and capture information in respect of SHE occurrences, incidents, accidents and non-conformances.
- Obtain information, check for accuracy and capture data. File documents per procedure.
- Participate in implementation of Safety Campaigns.
- Train and conduct relevant Safety campaigns with the airport community.
- Comply with work rules, standards and methods.
- Take care to minimise waste.
- Identify and provide feedback on cost saving initiatives within area of control.
- Complete Individual Development Plan.
- Attend learning and development courses.
- Participate in peer and team learning initiatives.
- Build, support and maintain interpersonal and team relationships to ensure stable working environment and achievement of team objectives.
The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:
- Grade 12 National Senior Certificate is essential.
- Diploma in Safety Management/Environment Managemental Management/Natural Sciences or Equivalent Qualification is essential. (Bachelors Degree is recommended)
- 1-2 Years operational experience Safety / Environmental / Risk Management / Public Health is essential.
- 1-2 Years operational experience in Construction Management is recommended.
- 2 Years operational experience in safety management in an airport environment is recommended.
- Code B drivers license.
- Basic Ms Office Competence
