Position Overview:
As the Chief Safety Officer, you will:

• Drive the implementation of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) policies, ensuring a safe and sustainable work environment.
• Draft, review, revise, and implement SHE procedures that set the benchmark for operational excellence.
• Ensure full compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, safeguarding the organization and its people.
• Lead by example, taking ownership of all duties and responsibilities tied to this critical role.

QUALIFICATIONS:
B Tech Safety Management (Essential/Minimum or)
B Tech (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
Certificate First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)

EXPERIENCE:
3-5 years Experience within the Safety Health and Environment field (Essential/Minimum) (Operational)

REQUIREMENTS:
Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
MHS Act Reg 2.17.4 Chief Safety Officer (Essential/Minimum)

Duties & Responsibilities

Ability to:

• To implement Safety Health and Environmental policies and to draft, review, revise and implement SHE procedures.
• To ensure Safety Health and Environmental compliance to legal and other requirements.
• To assume the duties and responsibilities of the Chief Safety Officer.
