Ubuntu Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Safety Officer to join our team. This role is ideal for a safety professional who is eager to grow their career while supporting compliance and promoting a safe, healthy working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with regular workplace safety inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance
- Support investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses, including root cause analysis
- Assist in developing and implementing safety policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Conduct safety training sessions on PPE, hazard identification, and emergency procedures
- Monitor the correct use and maintenance of safety equipment
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation
- Collaborate with departments to address safety concerns and corrective actions
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Stay informed on relevant OHS legislation and industry best practices
- Perform additional duties as required by management
- Matric (essential)
- Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (SAMTRAC or related)
- Registered with SACPCMP non-negotiable
- Sound knowledge of OHS regulations and standards
- Strong attention to detail and observation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Valid drivers license and own vehicle non-negotiable
- Previous experience in a similar role
- First Aid and CPR certification
