SALES MANAGER Shariah Banking

 

Staff Management

 

  • Ensures that branch is adequately staffed with skilled personnel which includes conducting of interviews when vacant positions arise in line with the Recruitment Policy
  • Conducts performance management sessions with staff in line with the Performance Management Policy of the Bank which includes, setting of objectives, continuous measurement of performance and assessments, final appraisals, training needs, salary increases
  • Implements corrective measures regarding disciplinary matters when necessary
  • Authorises any staff leave requests
  • Conducts staff meetings on a monthly basis ensuring staff are kept informed of current affairs

 

Budget Management

  • Agrees on income and sales targets for the financial year with the relevant General Manager
  • Prepares the budgets for the Branch on a yearly basis for submission to the General Manager for approval
  • Manages the budgets of the branch on a monthly basis

Branch Strategy

  • Sets out strategic objectives for the Branch and monitors progress on a monthly basis
  • Prepares and presents to the General Manager the Business Plan of the Branch.
  • Ensures that the agreed targets/budgets of the Branch is monitored on a regular basis and achieved.

 

General

  • Attends general and strategic meetings at Head Office concerning affairs that affect retail branches

 

Operations

  • Management of Overport Branch including Banking, Sales (Finance and Investments) and Forex.
  • Provides responses to all internal and external audit reports
  • Prepares and submits the monthly Progress Report to EXCO
  • Reviews all credit proposals prior to submission to Management Credit Committee or Executive Credit Committee
  • Manages the arrears of the branch.
  • Authorises opening of Business Accounts
  • Authorises all transactional reports as required in terms of policies and procedure.
  • Signs off the monthly branch operation reports in respect of monthly checks and balances

 

Client Liaison

  • Visits clients appearing on the Top 100 customer list on a quarterly basis
  • Accompanies Consultants, Executives or other Head Office Management on client visits or visits client independently to source new business and to maintain relationships.
  • Addresses any issues, complaints and concerns as raised by clients

Business Growth

  • Manages the growth of the Finance and investment books of the Branch
  • Oversees the growth of Transactional Banking products and services
  • Monitors activity in the sale of foreign currency
  • Increase the Bank’s income.
  • Cross sell all the Bank’s products and services

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BCom finance or accounting degree or related qualification
  • FAIS accredited

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience at managerial level / senior operational role in a financial institution, preferably a Bank

 

KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent knowledge of the Bank’s Operating Systems
  • Microsoft Office
  • Banking Policies and Procedures
  • Knowledge of Shariah principles
  • Basic Knowledge of HR Policies and procedures
  • Financial Statement Analysis
  • Understand all issues relating to credit and risk
