The purpose of this role is to maximize sales opportunities for all retail accounts and to drive effective sales strategies in line with the objectives of the business.
Qualifications And Experience Required
- Completed Grade 12 qualification is essential
- A marketing-related tertiary qualification will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of the poultry industry is advantageous
- Sales experience in the FMCG sector is essential
- Must have a reliable vehicle with a valid code 8 drivers license
- Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and MS PowerPoint)
- Must be able to do reporting in pivot tables in MS Excel
- The incumbent will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent administration and problem-solving skills;
- Basic understanding of the 20 Keys concept is essential;
- Must be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment and cope well under pressure;
- It is essential that the successful candidate be self-motivated with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- The incumbent will assist with various other duties and responsibilities within the sales department as required from time to time
- Must be bilingual (two South African languages) in order to converse with our diverse customer base
- Establishing strong relationships with retail customers
- Responding to all inbound sales inquiries in a professional manner
- Interaction with the Liaison Manager for new business opportunities
- Sales administration duties
- Promoting and growing the company brand and products
- Interacting and negotiating products and prices with existing and new clients
- Ensuring that the full range of products are displayed on shelf and that shelf-displays are optimal
- Maintaining a base of customers and ensuring excellent after-sales service
- Attending trade shows and exhibitions as required and plan and manage territory through ethical sales methods
- Gathering market intelligence to improve the company's competitive advantage
- Engaging with merchandising partners (Vector, Daymon and CPG)
- Total On Shelf Availability control
- Ordering of stock to ensure correct product mix at store level
- Shelf Management (layouts and flashers etc)
- Management of the quality of product on shelf
- Maintaining good customer service working relationships
- Ensuring maximum service levels into stores and on shelf
- Servicing internal and external customers effectively
- Communicating out-of-stocks daily with the sales team
- Recording of fridge breakdowns in stores
- Management of product-returns according to the Companys return policy
- Accountable to drive daily targets set out by the business
- Ensure daily KPIs are met
