The Group currently has a vacancy for a fast paced and customer orientated Scrap Metal Sales Representative to join the team. The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact between suppliers and the Company. This position is situated at the Gauteng Head Office in Rustivia, Germiston, however, the successful candidate will be required to travel extensively for business purposes. Position Requirements
- Negotiate with scrap suppliers, including large scrap metal dealers and industrial generators of scrap, for the purchase of their scrap metal.
- Maintain good customer relationship with these suppliers, including handling all queries and complaints.
- Visit suppliers on a regular basis to inspect material that is available.
- Liaise with SA Metals internal departments, including finance, transport, demolition and projects
- Generate and submit reports to management.
- Additional adhoc tasks.
- A minimum Grade 12 certificate.
- At least 3 years of general sales experience, preferably in manufacturing, engineering or allied industries /alternatively experience as a buyer of scrap metals.
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
