The Governors of Rosebank Junior School wishes to appont a dynamic, highly motivated and suitably qualified School Finance Officer to support the smooth and efficient running of the school. This is a school governing body (SGB) post for a fixed contract term. As the Financial Officer of RJS, the incumbent is reuqired to administer, deliver and manage the fnances of the school.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE:
- Experience of working in a finance function and have knowledge of accountancy procedures and/or a book-kkeping qualification
- A professional attitude and commitment to furthering their own development
- Strong interpersonla skills and positive behaviour management
DUTIES OF THE FINANCIAL OFFICER:
- Pastel accounting, payroll and processing (data capture, monthly and annual reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, journal processing, salaries etc.)
- Bookkeeping to balance sheet
- Cash management, full creditors and debtors function (including debt collection)
- Preparation of audit files, year-end files, financial statement and other administrative duties
- Managing the payroll proces, tax compliance, tax administration and SARS submissions
- Submission of monthly/quarterly 043 forms to WCED
- Preparation and reporting to RJS finance management team, SGB and Western Cape Education Department reporting
- AD hoc duties as may be required
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Finance, HR, Administration Premises management and Health & Safety
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
At least a tertiary level accounting qualification
If qualified by experience, at least 5 years' experience at the advertised level, with the same/ similar key performance areas
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Bookkeeping and school financial officer experience is preferred Computer Literacy (MS Office and Pastel)
