The following vacancy exists at our South Arm Engineering Department

Pipe Fitter Position

Viking Fishing has a position available for a Pipefitter reporting to the Pipefitters Foreman in the Engineering Department.

Responsibilities

• Extract, overhaul and maintain piping systems and valves in accordance with vessel blueprint.
• Operate workshop machinery correctly as per safety regulation.
• Cut and thread pipes and pipefitting for valves, thermostats, and taps.
• Plan the lay-out of pipe sections as per specifications.
• Raise and follow up all corrective action concerning deficiencies during maintenance of installation and production projects.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Position Requirements

• Grade 12 advantageous.
• Pipefitting / Plumbing Trade Certification.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
• Medically fit to work on vessels.
• Must be punctual and reliable.
• Positive attitude.
• Good time management with tasks.
• Understanding and adhering to the companys Health and Safety standards.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Work well in a team and follow instructions.
• Practice good safety and hygiene standards.
