We are looking for Seamstress (Sewing Machine Operator). Divine Beds is a bed manufacturing company based in Springs, Gauteng. The Seamstress will be responsible for the sewing of Base, Mattress and Pillows.
Job Duties (including but not limited to):
- The primary functions of the seamstress is to sew base, mattress and pillows
- Maintain a clean sewing machine and work station
- Oil the machine as and when necessary
- Perform adjustments and settings on the machine according to stich required.
- Take measurements and cut-to-size various fabric materials
- Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to packing pillows, mattress and base sets
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Basic Mathematical skills
- Sewing Certificate (advantageous)
- No Criminal Record
- 3-5 years of experience operating an industrial sewing machine.
- English Proficient (reading, writing, speaking/listening, comprehension)
- Ability to stand/sit/bend/twist/reach for up to 10 hours a day and ability to lift and/or carry objects up to 12kg
- Ability to use four senses: hearing, seeing, touch, smell
