Well established Company based in Kimberley, requires the services of a Senior Accountant
- BCom graduate in Accounting/Financial Accounting (non-negotiable)
- Completed articles (non-negotiable)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- 5 - 7 year’s relevant commercial experience at a senior level
- Group consolidation experience will be beneficial
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
Knowledge of the following Systems and programs:
- Advanced Excel skills
- Working knowledge of Sage Evolution accounting package
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a working knowledge of relevant accounting policies, tax and other fields of expertise
- Keep updated with relevant legislation and regulations
- Ensure compliance to applicable group policies and procedures, legislation, accounting and tax requirements
- Proactively initiate actions to improve performance through relevant, innovative and cost effective solutions that address current and future requirements for responsible areas
- Maintain and improve, where necessary, systems and procedures for responsible areas
- Ensure accurate and timeously preparation of figures up to Trial Balance for designated group companies
- Coordinate and prepare monthly management accounts for designated group companies
- Preparation of monthly audit files for review for designated group companies
- Optimise staff through, inter alia, multi-skilling, coaching, training and performance reviews - if applicable
- Plan, manage and resolve all tax and other governmental matters timely and efficiently, including
- Preparation of monthly income and deferred tax calculations for designated group companies
- Completion and submission of all relevant SARS and other governmental returns
- Assist Group accountant with ad hoc assignments, , where necessary
Salary:
Basic monthly salary R30-40k (based on experience), Medical aid, Provident Fund & Bonus
