Senior Accountant / Supervisor

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant with strong experience in financial statement preparation, management accounts/bookkeeping within a professional services setting, and someone confident working with and supporting junior staff.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, supporting them with their financial records and cloud-based accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist management with the coordination of a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring the delivery of high-quality accountancy services.
• Prepare and review statutory non-audit accounts and associated working papers for a portfolio of entities in a range of sectors
• Supervise the preparation and review monthly or quarterly management accounts for a variety of clients
• Assist in the management of workflow for junior team members, ensuring the preparation of accounts are completed within agreed timescales and budget
• Provide thorough briefing, supervision, and training to junior staff, ensuring their work is accurate and complete
• Lead, support, and mentor junior accounting staff, providing continuous feedback and guidance.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Recently qualified (PA(SA), ACCA, or equivalent) or Part-Qualified with experience (3.5 years min)
• Recent strong practice experience with a proven ability to deliver high-quality results.
• Proficiency in cloud accounting software and associated Add-ons (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Dext, Hubdoc)
• Proficiency with accounts preparation software (e.g. CaseWare)
• Competent in MS Excel for data analysis including pivot tables, V-Lookup and filters
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels
• Highly organised, self-motivated and capable of manging multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
