Job description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to support the Accountant within our holding company. This role is ideal for someone with a solid grounding in accounting fundamentals who enjoys being hands-on and contributing meaningfully to a busy finance function.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring accurate records, smooth processing, and reliable support across the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including invoicing, reconciliations, and general ledger processing.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports in collaboration with the CA.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Assist with audits, tax submissions, imports and exports financial processes, and year-end procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and processes.
- Provide general bookkeeping and accounting support across the group, gaining exposure to both manufacturing and retail environments.
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Assistant Accountant (minimum 35 years preferred).
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practical accounting treatments.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Pastel, Sage, or Xero, and strong Excel skills.
- High attention to detail with a structured and organised approach to work.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with finance and operations teams.
- Strong communication skills and confidence in engaging with multiple stakeholders.
