Senior Analyst - Market Surveillance And Data Analysis Department

Purpose of the Job

To load and merge data originating from diverse sources, identify and act on new opportunities for data driven business in data science and analytics, and work in a collaborative environment to develop data science methods, tools, and algorithms to solve problems. The incumbent will also use data to solve problems, to turn data into information and information into insight that will lead to informed business decisions. The person appointed to this position will report to the Senior Specialist: Data Analysis.

Requirements

Bachelors or Honours degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Econometrics, Actuarial Science, or equivalent experience with at least 4 years working experience in a field where data science and analysis was major, preferably in a financial services sector or regulator. Proficient in Python, R, and database technologies. Advanced working Python knowledge. Experience working with relational databases, query authoring Python as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.


Key Performance Areas
  • Pre-process and Transform data for model building and analysis.
  • Troubleshoot data quality issues and work with team members to reach solutions.
  • Become fluent in analytical modelling using internal data modelling platforms and tools.
  • Develop predictive models for business solutions.
  • Deploy predictive and other models to production.
  • Develop technical specification for 3rd party platform data integration and streaming.
  • Develop compelling visual stories to effectively communicate meaningful insights from big data.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to increase available data quality and delivery speed.
  • Address ad-hoc domain-specific data analytic requirements from domain or cluster leaders.
