To manage the Investment Administration (IA) and fund services products and service offering to asset manager and pension fund clients; by providing the following: fund accounting, fund administration, client engagement, unit-pricing, front-office support and performance analysis.
- The Fund Accountant is responsible for both calculating and reporting the NAV (Net Asset Valuation).
- The role entails the accurate end-too-end processing required to support the NAV calculation, which includes price sourcing, trade support, and daily cash reconciliation processes and the verification and release of NAVs.
- The role requires in-depth understanding of financial instruments and structured guidance to Managers.
- The role needs to cover a number of functions at a broad level:
- Fund Accountant: Senior role that performs more complex tasks, assists other staff members with complex queries and performs oversight over all functions;
- Fund Admin: Perform day to day transaction processing tasks and execution of required controls Client engagement officer: Provides first line support to clients that encounter issues with any of the services that are offered Unit pricing: Senior role that is responsible for the calculation of unit prices and ensure compliance with the relevant regulations Front-office support:
- Oversight of the front office services Provides first line support to clients that encounter issues with the modelling and trade execution system/modules 2 Compliance support: Oversight of the compliance reporting services Initial set-up and maintenance of compliance rules per portfolio Provide first line support for client queries Performance Analyst: Oversight of the investment performance services
First degree-Finance and Accounting
A relevant tertiary qualification preferably including Accounting; Finance; Investments- Chartered Accountant Completed 3-year SAICA/SAIPA articles*
