About The Role
As SGM, youll be responsible for driving growth, building and nurturing powerful relationships, strengthening our position among both drivers and riders, and keeping our teams engaged, motivated, and thriving. Youll be the bridge between Bolt and the countrys most important stakeholders, from regulators and government officials to local communities and business partners, while ensuring that our local operations are world-class. This role is not just about running a business, its about making urban travel more affordable, convenient, and sustainable. Youll work closely with HQ teams (Growth Analytics, Expansion, Central Operations, Marketing, Product, Regulatory, CS), report directly to the Regional Director for Africa & Southeast Asia, and lead a team that is determined to transform mobility in one of the worlds most dynamic markets.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Lead South Africas strategic and annual business planning, and be accountable for its execution.
- Identify local trends, opportunities and risks; create plans to to leverage on the opportunities / mitigate the risks.
- Oversee local operations and finances to ensure maximum impact and efficiency.
- Design in-market expansion strategies for ride hailing services and features.
- Take full ownership of the countrys P&L, delivering against ambitious KPIs.
- Lead, grow and inspire a high-performing team.
- Build strong succession plans while developing the next generation of leaders.
- Promote and live Bolts culture, striving every day to become a better leader for our people.
- Collaborate with HQ teams (Growth & Analytics, Product, Legal, Marketing) to launch and execute initiatives that deliver growth and efficiency.
- Advocate for Bolts brand, product, and service by engaging with authorities, policymakers, and key stakeholders.
