Job Description
Policy Account Resolution
- Ensure that all monthly, quarterly, and annual reports are accurate and comply with company requirements.
- Approve payment requisitions and ensure that supporting documentation complies with company processes and standards and submit to Credit Control.
- Attend to complex account queries in compliance with company standards.
- Attend to general office administration in compliance with departmental requirements.
- Approve debit and credit production write offs on a daily basis as per mandate.
- Ensure all refunds have been processed and approved on a daily basis.
- Negotiate commitment to make interim payment arrangements with Distribution, Brokers and Clients.
- Timeously and continuously follow up on all unallocated cash with no supporting premium with Underwriting thereby ensuring cash clearing through raising of premium or refund back to the broker within a period not exceeding 60 days.
- Report on all outstanding account queries by notifying the respective Distribution Regional and Underwriting Management of all overdue premiums on a monthly basis by no later than the 7th of each month
- Timeously and continuously escalating to the team leader where no feedback is received on outstanding Premium Due List items.
- Timeously initiate cancellation process for outstanding premium in excess of 60 days on annual policies
- Follow a thorough premium collection process before initiating the cancellation process.
- Timeously and accurately Identify, investigate and resolve all premium discrepancies
- Ensure all outstanding queries are followed up daily/weekly to ensure timeous resolution.
- Assist in performing reconciliations on policies.
- Timeously and accurately resolve policy accounts queries
- Facilitate training of new (new joiners)
- Mentor new joiners in the department.
- Pilot new projects
- Assist Team Leader with Overseeing the team
- Run with IT testing requirements (generally on weekends)
- Perform ad hoc duties in the department upon request.
- Compile ad-hoc reports based on requirements.
- Assists in internal and external audits.
- First approval of Refunds
- Facilitate and service to resolve complex issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Grade 12 essential
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in commerce/accounting compulsory.
- 4 - 5 years experience in Credit Control role within the insurance industry.
- TIA system experience advantageous
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and client relationship skills.
- Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Proven ability to work independently and proactively.
- Proven ability to suggest working solutions to a problem.
- Extensive knowledge and experience using the Microsoft Office suite,

Assist with the development and delivery of financial policies, guidelines, and protocols to ensure the company complies with regulations and good financial practice.

Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.

Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
