Job Summary

To provide specialist advice and support on data analyst delivery, methods and techniques; enabling the construction, maintenance and expansion of data analysis. Apply data mining techniques, statistical analysis, and building high quality machine learning models integrated with our business decisions e.g., products, sales and customer experience delivery. The role will be a senior agile collaborator within a team of specialist data scientists to help Absa discover the insights hidden in its vast amounts of data, and help enable smarter decisions to deliver better products and services. The senior data scientist will be expected to take on the most complex projects and also provide technical mentoring and coaching for other team members.

Job Description

Responsible for pricing and modelling complex derivative products and quantifying the financial risks associated with the trading business. Understand the underlying mathematical models and the theory on which they are based, and apply this understanding to current real-world trading and risk management challenges. Understand the computational aspects of these models including the various numerical schemes and their implementation. Development of new pricing models and risk management techniques. Development and maintenance of pricing and risk management tools used by the trading business to price and hedge bespoke products. Ensure that for all products, valuations and risks are calculated correctly. Conduct research towards

the development of new models, and into better methods and models for pricing and risk. Suited to candidate with quantitative degree and min 3 year Quantitative Analysis experience in a Global Markets environment

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Statistics, Bachelor Honours Degree: Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences
