SUMMARY:

A well-known international plastics manufacturing company requires the above to strategically manage and oversee a very senior portfolio of customers within the plastic converting markets to ensure the HDPE sales budget is met and exceeded.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:
  • A commercial or sciences or related degree is essential for the role.
  • Previous experience having worked in a senior key account and or Sales Manager role managing very senior accounts is essential for this role.
  • The successful candidate must demonstrate strong negotiation skills and a proactive sales mindset, with a commitment to continuous self-development and effective problem-solving.
  • Previous experience having worked within the polymer raw materials or chemical raw material or related industries is preferred but for the role to ensure that you are able to give informed technical and commercial interactions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Managing and overseeing a very senior portfolio of customers within the plastic converting markets to ensure that HDPE sales budgets are met and exceeded.
  • Managing and optimizing local sales channels and channel partners to enhance sales performance and market reach.
  • Driving sales volume, pricing, and margin targets for the blow moulding and compression moulding portfolio.
  • Reporting to senior management on sales performance for monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews.
  • Negotiating monthly prices to achieve predetermined pricing objectives as well as forecasting and budgeting by customer and by product grade.
  • Providing feedback to the sales and operations planning team on stock allocations and communicating market requirements to support execution.
  • Maximizing import displacement through direct sales efforts and optimized engagement with channel partners.
  • Setting monthly sales volume targets for channels and coordinating training and growth initiatives.
  • Driving revenue growth through proactive sales planning, pipeline management, and conversion strategies.
  • Monitoring market trends, pricing, and competitor activity to inform strategic decisions.
  • Managing and growing relationships with key clients and distributors.
  • Working closely with production, R&D, quality, and logistics teams to ensure customer requirements are met efficiently.
Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
